Our mission to highlight the entries from the 2021 Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards Competition continues! Check out our March spotlights listed below to learn about sustainable flexible packaging, its benefits, the manufacturers behind the creation, and the brands that are using these packages for their products.
The Kettle Cooked Sea Salt design was developed by the customer. It is printed with matte film and the design enhances the full matte effect. The full white background gives a rich look to the pouch. The printability and matte effect make the package eye-catching, improves the shelf appearance, and influences consumers to select the product. These considerations earned Emirates Printing Press, L.L.C. a place in our Innovation Showcase. For more information on the manufacturer, check out their website here.

The KitKat Lotus 3D recyclable pouch is designed with a registered matte coating to create a striking brand block on the shelf. As the full laminate is OPP-based, the pouching parameters were set carefully for good sealing quality and finish of the pouch. OPP non-heat sealable and metalized OPP are used instead of PET and MET PET to make the laminate recyclable. As a responsible manufacturer of flexible packaging, in coordination with the customer, the recyclable pouch was developed as a sustainability initiative. The pouch is laser scored for easy tearing by the consumer, a feature that landed its manufacturer a spot in our Innovation Showcase. To learn more about Emirates Printing Press, L.L.C., click here.

Krispy Kreme’s newest product is snack-sized Doughnut Bites and Mini Crullers in an easy, convenient grab-and-go packaging format. The Liquibox recycle-ready film for bag-in-box is a groundbreaking flexible packaging solution that is ready for the future. The innovative new bag structure, capable of containing valuable liquid products such as post-mix syrup and water, addresses a long-standing and critical need for beverage markets globally: the complete elimination of nylon from PE-based films, without sacrificing strength or performance. This revolutionary patent-pending mono-material offering in the bag-in-box packaging category improves recyclability and lowers the carbon footprint of packaging so that customers can achieve the sustainable performance their business needs and their consumers expect. These features earned Liquibox a place in our Innovation Showcase and can be examined further here.
