Natural Force chooses Flexible Packaging: Here’s Why

Natural Force is among one of many brands that chose flexible packaging for their products to offer customers more sustainable packaging options. Over the years, Natural Force has initiated several projects to gradually transition away from bulky plastic tubs to flexible pouches and glass bottles to reduce the amount of plastic waste that ends up in landfills and waterways.

“Our team doesn’t just make nutritional supplements, we use them ourselves,” says Tony Federico, VP of Marketing at Natural Force. “So when we started to notice how much plastic was filling up our pantries, we were determined to do something about it.”

After exploring different packaging options, Natural Force landed on flexible pouches as the perfect package for their dry and powdered products, as they use significantly less plastic than standard tubs. Flexible pouches are also lightweight so they reduce fossil fuel consumption during shipping, and they are recyclable which allows their materials to be repurposed and reused!

Currently, more than a dozen of Natural Force products are packaged in flexible pouches, and they plan to release several more this year alone.

“We don’t think that consumers should have to compromise their values when it comes to purchasing health supplements,” says Federico.  “As a result, we apply the same quality and sustainability standards to both our products and their packaging.”

For example, Natural Force’s Organic Whey Protein has sustainable benefits throughout its full life cycle. The protein is sourced from heritage-bred California Jersey cows that graze on pasture year-round, and are never treated with hormones or antibiotics. Additionally, their forage is free from pesticides, herbicides, and GMOs, and their milk is used to make artisan cheeses. The Whey, a natural byproduct of cheese-making, is gently processed into a high-quality protein powder. Natural Force then packages the powdered Whey Protein in a BPA-free, recyclable pouch that uses 70% less plastic than a standard tub.

About Natural Force

Natural Force was started over 10 years ago when founders Joe Rakoski and Justin Quinn got fed up with artificial, unhealthy nutritional supplements and decided to take matters into their own hands. They believed that supplements should be made from simple, healthy, real-food ingredients and were committed to using business as a force for good.

Since that time, Natural Force has grown and evolved, but its commitment to the brand’s founding values has never changed. They promise to always use clean, healthy ingredients, lab test them for quality and purity, and to package them in non-toxic, eco-friendly materials.

And, whenever an order is placed on the naturalforce.com website, they plant a tree in ecologically important areas such as Northern California, the Brazilian Rainforest, the Florida Everglades, or Australia.
