The Perfect Packaging campaign is brought to you by the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA), the voice for the U.S. flexible packaging industry since 1950. The flexible packaging industry leads important packaging trends by extending shelf life and increasing safety, design flexibility, convenience, and sustainability.
Flexible packaging is any package or part of a package whose shape can readily be changed when filled or during use. Flexible packaging is produced from paper, plastic, film, aluminum foil, or any combination of those materials, and includes bags, pouches, liners, wraps, rollstock, and other flexible products. By extending shelf life and offering a host of convenient features, one of its greatest impacts is helping the U.S. reduce food waste. Flexible packaging use is growing fast and is second only to corrugated cardboard in the U.S. It provides many consumer benefits, but flexible packaging is quickly becoming the preferred solution for brands because it reduces their environmental footprint.

FPA is collaborating with content creators to improve the awareness of the value of flexible packaging and promote the many consumer and environmental benefits of flexible packaging. The goal of the Perfect Packaging campaign is to turn the tide on the negative sentiment surrounding packaging waste in general and single-use plastic packaging, specifically, conveying the positive environmental footprint and convenience features of a sustainable packaging type – flexible packaging.
Today, shoppers, brands and retailers are all focused on more sustainable packaging solutions. To determine which packaging alternatives are better for the environment, you really need to consider all impacts throughout a package’s life cycle – ultimately working toward a circular economy. Unfortunately, armed only with misinformation, many do not distinguish between the different forms of packaging or plastics – and not all are created equal.
Your role will be to communicate, engage and encourage your audience to rally around the Perfect Packaging message and share it with your followers so they understand that flexible packaging is not an enemy but rather a collection of packaging formats produced with sustainability and the overall environmental footprint top of mind. Identified key messages include:
The Perfect Packaging campaign partners with influencers focused on Sustainable and Eco-Conscience Living, Lifestyle, Wellness, Travel, Family, and Food and would value and identify with the benefits of flexible packaging.
The preferred social channels include Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Bonus content on Facebook and Pinterest would also be considered. Exact deliverables will be determined based on influencer’s audience and response to different types of content posts (video, posts, stories, etc.).
If you think you’re a good fit and would like to discuss further, reach out! We look forward to collaborating with you.
